Embrace the Grace!

Our Mission Statement

Why are we here in Westwood?

THE
MISSION
To love the people of Westwood and Ashland into a relationship with Jesus Christ, and to give away to the world what God has given us.

THE VISION …
Imagine a ragtag collection of surrendered and transformed people who love God and others. They are mesmerized by the idea that this is not about them, but all about Jesus. They are transfixed by His story and His heart for their community. They are seed-throwers and fire-starters, hope-peddlers and grace-givers, risk-takers and dreamers, young and old. They link arms with anyone who tells the story of Jesus. They encourage the poor, strengthen the weak, embrace the outcast, seek the lost. They serve together, play together, worship together, live life together. Their lives, their community, their world will change because God sent them. They are us.

WE BELIEVE …

Even the smallest things, done with great love, will change the world.

WE WILL BE …
Believers who allow God’s love to grow in us and show through us; A church of celebration and praise to the Lord, focusing on disciple-making and personal growth; One part of God’s Kingdom, doing all we can to work, share, and worship together with all believers, to show Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world.

Why Are We Here In Worship Services?
______________________________________
We are not here out of obligation, or tradition, or fear, or guilt
We are not here to just sing, preach, be entertained
We are not here to rewrite what He has written, to alter what He has spoken, to shout over what He whispers
Rather...
We are here to echo His glory, not trumpet ours
To celebrate the love that was proved on the cross
To magnify His name so that others might come
We are here because God loved us first
He has called us into community
The Gospel is the Good News
And it has forever changed us
We are here to worship our Creator, our Father, our Redeemer, our Savior
We are here to receive His grace and mercy
To offer our bodies as living sacrifices
To surrender ourselves to His will
We are here to echo Him with our lives, our passions, all we have
That's why we sing
That's why we celebrate
That's why we are here
