Sometimes in order to get us where the Lord needs us to be, He must remove us from our comfort zone. But in so doing, the Lord is able to pour out unimaginable blessings upon us. Chris Keeton
Pastor
Brother Chris has been the Pastor of Westwood Church of God since September 2001. He was one of the founding members of the church in 1987, at the tender age of ten, and has been active in various capacities in the congregation ever since. Brother Chris preached his first sermon at this church fifteen years ago, and in 1997 devoted his life to a full-time focus on the ministry. He served in the capacity of Minister of Visitation, Associate Pastor and Co-Pastor with his grandfather, Bob Queen. Brother Bob was the church's first pastor, retiring as the Senior Pastor in 2001 after 14 years in that position.
Brother Chris's continues to believe that even the small acts of a single congregation can impact and change the world we live in. He says, "I feel we need to get back to a culture in the Church where it is exciting and fun to get into the Word of God and find what He wants for us! I firmly believe every Christian has room to learn, room to love, and room to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ. If we can reach even one person, our work is worth it, but we want to reach out to many more than that! It's an honor to be part of such a wonderful congregation, and to serve the church as Senior Pastor has been the greatest honor of my life. We're all in this together, and I welcome each one who will join in our ministry to our community and to our world! With Christ, the sky is truly the limit, and ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!"
Brother Chris lives in Ashland with his wife, Alison, and their sons David and Daniel.
Dave Layne
Associate Pastor
Brother Dave joined the Pastoral Staff of Westwood Church of God as Associate Pastor in March of 2008. Raised in a family with deep roots in the Church of God (Anderson, IN) and in pastoral ministry, Brother Dave answered the call to preach in 2007. Having returned to a relationship with Christ after many years of "wandering in the wilderness," Brother Dave is committed to furthering the work of the Lord and to do his best in helping not only the congregation he serves, but to be a vibrant testimony for Christ to everyone he meets. As Brother Dave says, "I got out of the 'No' Business when I came to the Lord. Where He leads, I'm ready to follow!"
Brother Dave lives in Flatwoods, Kentucky.
